Motorised Blinds Singapore: Battery or Wired Motors
| Motor | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Rechargeable battery | Existing homes, rentals, windows without a power point | No wiring. Recharge every few months, depending on use |
| Wired (230V) | Renovations and new homes | No charging, but needs a power point near the window |
| Smart home motor (Zigbee, Wi-Fi or Matter) | Homes with a smart home system | Usually needs a hub or bridge. Check it works with your system before buying |
Motorised blinds help most on wide windows, high windows and windows behind furniture. They also remove the hanging chain, which matters in homes with young children.

Power Points and Wiring
Battery motors need no electrical work. A wired motor needs a power point near the top of the window. EMA says electrical works such as additions and alterations to your wiring must be done by a Licensed Electrical Worker, so any new point is wired by a licensed electrician. If you are renovating, plan the points before the ceiling and walls are finished. Our renovation team can include them.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do motorised blinds cost in Singapore?
Entry-level motorised roller blinds are about $250 to $450 per window, installed. Motorised zebra and Roman blinds are about $400 to $700, and premium branded systems $600 to $1,200 plus the hub.
Can I motorise my existing blinds?
Sometimes. If the tube and brackets take a motor, adding one costs about $150 to $350 per blind. Otherwise a new motorised blind is better value.
Do motorised blinds need a power point?
Wired motors do. Battery motors do not, but they need recharging every few months depending on use.
Who installs the power point?
A Licensed Electrical Worker. EMA requires electrical work to be done by a licensed worker, so we arrange a licensed electrician for any new point.
Can motorised blinds work with Google Home or Alexa?
Many can, through a compatible motor and hub. Tell us your system and we check compatibility before you order.
