TV Mounting Singapore: Which Wall Mount to Choose
| Bracket | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed (flat) mount | Living rooms where you sit straight in front of the TV | Sits closest to the wall and looks the neatest. Lowest cost. |
| Tilting mount | TVs mounted higher, such as in bedrooms | Angles the screen down to cut glare from windows and lights. |
| Full-motion (swivel arm) mount | Corners, open-plan rooms and viewing from more than one spot | Pulls out and turns. Needs a solid wall, as the arm puts more load on the fixings. |
Check two things on your TV before buying a bracket: the VESA hole pattern on the back, and the weight. The bracket must match the VESA pattern and be rated above the TV's weight. If you are unsure, send us the TV model and we will check it.

Walls, Cables and Power Points
- Concrete and brick walls. Most HDB and condo walls are concrete or brick and hold a TV well with the right anchors. We check for pipes and wiring before drilling.
- Board and drywall partitions. Board walls need fixings into the frame behind, or heavy-duty cavity anchors. Large TVs and full-motion arms may not suit a board wall at all, and we will tell you before drilling.
- Cables. We run cables in surface trunking that can be painted to match the wall. This keeps the wall intact and is easy to change later.
- Power points. HDB requires an EMA licensed electrical worker for all electrical work. A new power point behind the TV or wiring concealed inside the wall is done by a licensed electrical worker, not by our handyman team.
TV mounting fits well with other small jobs in one handyman visit, such as mirror installation or shelves.

How High Should a Wall-Mounted TV Be?
For a living room, a common guide is to have the middle of the screen roughly at eye level when you are seated. On a typical sofa that is about 100 to 110cm from the floor. In bedrooms, TVs are often mounted higher and tilted down. We mark the position with you before drilling so you can check it from your seat.
